Ben Hogan Swing

If you doubt that Ben Hogan really did use "the final missing piece," than get a copy of John Schlee's 1986 book Maximum Golf and read the bottom middle two paragraphs on page 80. According to his long-time club designer and friend Gene Sheeley, Ben Hogan "...discovered that the more weight he got onto the left foot and the turning point, the faster he could spin level left. He discovered that it was impossible to generate maximum speed unless he was on the turning point." On this same page in Maximum Golf you can also read that many years before the invention of the radar gun and launch monitor, Ben Hogan came up with a machine which would accurately measure his club head speed. With this machine, he proved to himself that he had to get his weight left, prior to turning, for maximum clubhead speed.

  • In his post-accident swing, the top of Ben Hogan's head was two inches lower at the start of his downswing than at setup. It is quite possible that you have never heard this before. In The Final Missing Piece you can SEE this lowering actually happen, and learn the math that explains WHY it had to happen.
  • If you are like most golfers, you have never felt the stretching of the "elastic strip" that Ben Hogan mentions in Five Lessons. With this book, you will finally understand why. You will also be able to recreate this same backswing stretching that Ben Hogan felt was so important to the golf swing.

  • Read The Final Missing Piece of Ben Hogan's Secret Puzzle and learn
why Ben Hogan had that extra spike.

Some initial comments about the book:

Hogan’s Secret? Revealed.
By C. B. Maxwell

If you are like most golfers, you have read the legendary Ben Hogan’s book, Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf, which I believe is the biggest-selling golf instruction book of all time. Now there is a new book to add to your collection that will give you some amazing new insights into Hogan’s lessons and the secret that has been discussed for years: The Final Missing Piece of Ben Hogan’s Secret Puzzle.

Authors V. J. Trolio and Dave Hamilton are the golf professional and engineering team who created the Putting Arc, the most popular putting training device on Tour. As word catches on that you can finally put together all the pieces from Five Lessons, their book is sure to be a best-seller.

Many people believe that Hogan left out a vital key or two when he wrote Five Lessons. The Final Missing Piece solves the puzzle. If you have used Hogan’s tips for your golf swing in the past, this will bring you full circle. Now, the only question that remains is: can you successfully deploy this “new” move? After reading the book, I believe the answer is Yes.

Trolio and Hamilton deliver with never-before-seen photos taken AFTER Hogan’s auto accident that make it evident he had discovered something during his recovery that he didn’t use BEFORE the accident. For those who don’t know their golf history, Hogan played the best golf of his career after a life-threatening car crash.

Hogan was no more than 5′ 8″ tall and 170 pounds. With repaired but still-damaged legs, a balata ball, and persimmon driver, he could drive the ball as far as today’s tour players on demand (300 yards)! How could such a small guy put that much force and leverage on a golf ball? The answer to that question is thoroughly explained in this 90-page book.

Hogan was often asked about his secret. He would say it is in Five Lessons (and in his swing) “if I tell you where to look.” Well, in The Final Missing Piece, the authors tell us where to “look.”

Dave Hamilton (Cornell University, Engineering) holds seven golf-related patents and shows us the math behind this “move.” It’s not necessary to understand any of it to implement the secret, but it is cool that they included this “proof.”

For more than 50 years the “secret” of Hogan has remained a mystery waiting to be discovered, and now it has been. If you are serious about your golf, you owe it to yourself to get this book and add to your intimate knowledge of one of the game’s greatest players.

*****

"This is not another 'Hogan's secret' HOAX - it is for real, and the pictures provide the proof."

"The book is worth the price just for the new color pictures of Ben Hogan."

"It is a fascinating mystery story, and a compelling insight into Ben Hogan, even for someone like me who does not play golf."

"If you are a Ben Hogan fan, you HAVE to get this book!"
